The staff of Shabeldeen Engineering has successfully completed simple and complex, projects both large and small. The following sections briefly describe the range of project that the company and/or our staff has completed.

  • Water And Sewer Infrastructure

  • Burke County Water Line Extensions – Provided design, permitting, bidding, and construction phase services for approximately 20,000 linear feet of 8-, 6-, and 2-inch water line extensions along six (6) roads in Burke County. The project included a 100-gpm booster pump station and a 300-ft. stream crossing of Henry Fork. Assisted the County in easement and property acquisition. The project required coordination with the County, and the cities of Morganton and Valdese, who will each own and operate portions of the project

  • Water line extensions along Fox Winkler Road, Satterwhite Circle, and Roby Martin Road in Caldwell County, NC

  • Engineered septic systems for commercial and residential owners, including Montessori School (Newton), Matthews Veterinary Clinic (Vale), Cheek's Grill (Lenoir) and Terrell Baptist Church (Terrell). Saved client thousands of dollars by redesigning a proposed commercial system to include equalization to reduce field size and eliminate more expensive disposal methods

  • Grandfather Vistas residential subdivision (Caldwell County, NC), which included approximately 8.0 miles of water transmission main, three (3) in-line booster pump stations, one (1) ground storage tank, and approximately 4.0 miles of distribution lines. The project also included approximately 12.0 miles of sewer force main, one (1) lift station, and 4.0 miles of low-pressure sewer collection lines

  • Sewer force main of approximately 45,000 linear feet (LF) of 12" to 30" pipe, two (2) large diameter lift stations, and one 14,000 gpm in-line booster pumping station (Sarasota, FL)

  • Water mains and fire hydrants in an older residential area, served by old, small-diameter galvanized pipes (Claremont, NC and Venice, FL)

  • Septic tank replacement program of approximately 20,000 linear feet (LF) of vacuum sewer mains and vacuum sewer pumping station, 8,000 LF of conventional gravity sewer lines and lift station, and two (2) low-pressure sewer systems (Sarasota, FL)

  • Site Development

  • Alexander YMCA – Provided design (grading, drainage, utilities, and landscaping) and permitting services for a 16-acre recreational facility to include main building, multiple parking lots, soccer field, baseball field, and walking trail. The project required the analysis and design of storm water system to handle approximately 7 acres off-site runoff. Due to client's budgetary constraints, the project was redesigned to fit within their budget. We were able to acquire erosion control permit within two (2) weeks of submittal through the expedited permitting process

  • Medical Office Buildings - Provided design (grading, drainage, utilities, and landscaping) and permitting services for a several medical office buildings in Lincoln, Catawba, and Henderson counties. Worked closely with architect and contractor to address recently promulgated stormwater NPDES Phase II requirements to successfully complete the project. Acquired erosion control permit within two weeks through expedited permitting process

  • Churches - Provided design (grading, drainage, utilities, and landscaping) and permitting services for a several churches Alexander, Caldwell and Catawba counties. Developed phasing strategy with church and contractor to optimize development area while staying within constraints of watershed protection ordinance. Designed site in steep terrain in Caldwell County

  • General Projects – Provided design and expedited permitting for a 1.5-ac. parking lot instrumental in the economic development project to bring over 400 jobs to Hickory. Provided civil engineering design site design services for a manufacturing facility in Morganton

  • Construction Management

  • Server Facility (Lenoir, NC) – A member of a team providing full-time construction administration for the 220-acre site which included grading a 35-acre building pad, road construction, and deep fill sections and cut in a rock face requiring extensive blasting. Providing field design, monitoring construction progress, oversight and testing of water and sewer systems, and erosion control inspection. Having worked so closely with contractors to build this complex facility has greatly enhanced our design capabilities

  • Target Distribution System (Newton, NC) – Provided weekly erosion control inspection and recommendations for a 200+-acre facility. Working with site civil engineer, general contractor and grading contractor to ensure the intent of the erosion control measures are met and recommending modifications and additional measures to control erosion

  • Water Transmission System - 30,000 LF of 8-inch through 24-inch water transmission main with directional bores, a 1.0-MG elevated storage tank, water supply well and well blending station (Greenville, NC)

  • Sewer Force Mains - 26,000 LF of 10-inch through 30-inch force mains and three (3) master lift stations approximately 25 feet in depth and a 24" HDPE directional bore, the largest in Sarasota County, underneath a four-lane, divided major arterial
