Dan is the president and principal engineer of Shabeldeen Engineering, PA, specializing in site development and water/wastewater infrastructure systems. Dan also has extensive experience in storm water management and hydrogeology. With nearly 25 years of experience as an environmental/water resource engineer with private consulting firms and field geologist in oil and gas exploration and scientific studies, he has designed and managed a variety of projects of all sizes.
He was previously the Sarasota (FL) Office Manager for the Parsons Corporation and the Hickory (NC) Office Manager for another regional engineering firm. His experience in project management including budgets/schedules, civil engineering, surveying, and construction administration, as well as being a small business owner, is a direct benefit to our clients.

His projects have included planning, design, and construction management of large and small site development projects, water/wastewater/reclaimed water transmission systems, central sewer for septic tank replacement program, and storm water improvements. Dan has conducted complex computer modeling and analytical evaluation of various surface water and ground water systems, solute transport, and watershed studies. He has also been responsible for potable and remediation well design/construction, surveying, and public relations. As a P.E. and P.G., Dan has conducted numerous contamination assessments and engineered remedial action plans for landfill, industrial, and petroleum sites, under state, RCRA, and CERCLA programs.
During his career, Dan has acquired large breadth of knowledge which he uses to provide innovative, holistic solutions for his clients. He is committed to exceeding client expectations by going beyond the scope of services to provide value-added services in order to get positive results.

Dan also believes we must give back to the community, having previously served as the President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (Suncoast Branch), American Public Works Association (Suncoast Branch), President of the Florida Engineer’s Society (USF Student Chapter), and President of his homeowner’s association. He was awarded Employee of the Year (Parson Florida Division), Engineer of the Year (ASCE Suncoast Branch), and FES Student Engineer of the Year. He is a member of the Catawba Chamber of Commerce Land Development Board and on the Board of Directors of the Catawba Valley Home Builders Association, member of the National Home Builders Association and the NC Rural Water Association.
